New US DOT Number Registration

Who should apply for a USDOT Number?

Businesses utilizing commercial vehicles above 10,000 lbs. that journey across state borders
Businesses engaged in transporting 8 or more passengers (driver included) for payment
Businesses involved in transporting 15 or more passengers (driver included) regardless of payment
Businesses engaged in transporting dangerous materials

UCR — Unified Carrier Registration

Who is required to enroll in UCR?

Motor carriers (both public and private)
Private motor carriers
Leasing firms
Freight forwarders
Brokers situated in the United States, Mexico, or Canada, or companies engaged in international and/or interstate commerce involving the USA

BOC-3 Filing

Interstate carriers, brokers, and freight forwarders must designate a process agent in every state where they operate by filing Form BOC-3 with the FMCSA. We prepare and submit the filing so your operating authority is never held up.

Out of Business Notification

If you are no longer utilizing your US DOT number, you must submit a notification of business cessation to FMCSA to prevent any unauthorized usage of your US DOT number. We handle the paperwork and confirm the deactivation.

A U.S. DOT Number is necessary if:

The gross weight rating of your vehicles is 10,000 pounds or higher (this pertains to the combined weight of vehicles, including both the vehicle and trailer)
Your vehicles are utilized for the profitable transportation of 8 individuals or more (including the driver)
Your vehicles are used for the non-profit transportation of 16 individuals or more (including the driver)
You are engaged in the transportation of hazardous materials (HazMat)
